PlutoSurvivor | These past few mornings have been exceptionally still and quiet. My ears easily pick up the pitter-patter on the roof from the squirrels jumping on and off the adjacent tree. At first I though the cats were up to mischief, but then I realized it was the squirrels outside. Everything is calm. It's almost like the quiet before the rainy stormy weather enters in, to water the budding bushes, perky crocus and daffodil plants peeking through. The new season of perennials shiwing themselves marks the springtime awakening. do you notice the quiet where you are located ? |
Randall | Yep! Today, in fact. Just two squirrels hopping on trees. |
PlutoSurvivor | Aha, now I know why it is so quiet... I forgot to refill the bird feeders in the tree outside my bedroom window. |
Randall | Makes sense! |
Randall | |
Randall | Hungry birds! |
Randall | Is there lots of singing now? |
PlutoSurvivor | Feeders empty again. Digging up beetle grubs and slugs for the backyard birds. |
Randall | Awww... |
Randall | I bet they love those! |
Randall | Happy birds! |
PlutoSurvivor | Yep, every time I turn over the garden or plant I save the insect larva for the robins who are searching for food. I pile up the grubs and slugs and watch the birds eat up the garden pests. |
Randall | Yums! |
Randall | I was feeding a duck bread and saw it suck down a worm that slithered by like a spaghetti noodle. |
Randall | The duck ignored my bread. |
Randall | Wormsies taste better. |
